It's been more than a month since I last wrote. We've been on holiday and we've been literally and metaphorically off-line. There are some things I'd like to post about but, the first one is Aitana's birthday party (it's a shorter post to write, because images are self-explanatory and it's my own little tribute to my not-so-baby girl).

Ha passat més d'un mes des de l’últim post. Hem estat de vacances i hem estat literalment i metafòricament desconnectats. Hi ha algunes coses sobre les quals m'agradaria escriure però la primera és l'aniversari d’Aitana (és un post més curt d’escriure, perquè les imatges parlen a soles i és el meu xicotet homenatge a la meua no tan xicoteta xiqueta).
I wanted to make a special party for her. I knew that it would be secondary as long as her family and friends were there with her. But, I was very excited about making something that she liked.
Volia fer una festa especial. No calia fer gran cosa, perquè sabia que Aitana estaria encantada només pel fet de tindre a la seua família i amics amb ella. Però jo estava molt il.lusionada amb fer una cosa especial i que li agradara.
She's been a Sesame Street fan for rather a long time. We discovered a collection of books at our local library and we've been reading about Grover, Bert and Ernie, Cookie Monster, Elmo, Oscar the Grouch, Big Bird and the rest of the neighborhood for months.
Ja fa molt de temps que és fan de Barrio Sésamo. Van trobar una col.lecció de llibres a la biblioteca i hem estat llegint durant mesos les històries de Coco, Epi i Blas, Triki, Elmo, Óscar el gruñón, Paco Pico i la resta de veïns.
My source of inspiration, as for many other occasions, was Pinterest. And this is what I came up with.
La meua font d'inspiració, com en moltes altres ocasions, va ser Pinterest. I açò és el resultat.

The cakes. We bought the chocolate one and I baked the blue one. I forgot to take a picture before cutting it, but it was Cookie Monster's face.
Les tortades. La de xocolote la vam comprar i la blava la vaig fer jo. No vaig recordar-me de fer-li una foto abans de tallar-la, però era una tortà amb la cara de Triki.
And, finally, the party favours. I made two felt puzzles with the faces of Bert and Ernie.
I, per últim, els detallets. Vaig fer dos trencaclosques de feltre amb les cares d'Epi i Blas.
I had been preparing the party for almost one month, basically gathering ideas. In the end, once I had decided what I wanted to do, it didn't take me much time to make all the party decorations, treats, favours, the box and the cake. I love crafts and sewing and I don't usually find time to spend on these hobbies. So I really enjoyed the preparations for this party, and I really liked Aitana's comment "Mummy, you're a champion!". Hahahahh, where did she get it from?
Havia estat preparant la festa durant
un mes, bàsicament buscant idees. Al final, una vegada havia decidit el que volia
fer, no em va costar molt de temps fer totes les decoracions, detallets, la caixa i el pastís. M'encanten les manualitats i cosir i no solc trobar
el temps per a aquestes aficions. Així que realment vaig gaudir dels preparatius de
la festa, i em va agradar molt el comentari d'Aitana "Mami, eres una campiona!".
Hahahahh, d'on s'ho haurà tret?

Dressing dolls in our magnetic board. I laminated the dolls and the clothes and stack a piece of magnet Nines retallables per a la nostra pissarra magnètica. Les vaig retallar, plastificar i els vaig pegar un iman darrere.
